So, you want to help?

We’re rooted in the invitation to start where you stand.

You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to do everything. Start with what you have, where you are, and the community around you.

p.s. some necessary framing:

Relief work is complicated. Climate change is complicated.
And none of us can respond to either alone.

Moving Mountains is not an aid organization or a climate organization.

We're a group of people using the community and resources we already have
to support people doing the work on the ground.

Here in Rhode Island, that means movement.

We're bringing together some of the incredible instructors, studios, gyms, clinicians, and community spaces across our state to host donation-based classes in support of
Nepali-led flood relief x climate justice/resiliency/action work.

Along the way, we'll share opportunities to learn more, highlight organizations doing meaningful work both in Nepal and here in Rhode Island, and make space for conversation about a crisis that reaches far beyond any one country or crisis.

We don’t have to have all the answers to participate. We don’t need to be experts.
We can start where we stand.

How it works

01

move

Come as you are.

Join a yoga class, run, strength session, hike, dance class, meditation, or another Moving Mountains gathering happening across Rhode Island.

Movement gives us a place to come together with what we’re carrying, and with our neighbors!

02

Turn showing up into tangible support.

Moving Mountains events are donation-based, with 100% of donations supporting Nepali-led flood relief efforts (learn more).

Give what you can. Your presence and participation matter. No one is turned away due to lack of funds.

give

03

Let it move beyond the gathering.

Climate grief, anxiety, and overwhelm are real. Despite being overwhelmed, we do have the capacity to respond.

Learn, stay engaged, and find meaningful ways to take action - from where you are & your unique expression of stewardship + care.

learn.

Gather.

We gather because we don’t have to face this alone, and truthfully, we can’t.

That would be like asking one person to move a mountain.

Moving Mountains brings people together across Rhode Island - not because movement can solve the climate crisis, but because community can help us stay present, connected, and engaged with what comes next.

Together, we make space for what we’re feeling, support people who need resources now, and turn toward the climate emergency rather than away from it.
