An important note from Lauren on where funds will go

29th August 2026 — We have a collective web of relationships in Nepal and are actively in conversation with Nepali partners, NGOs, and community members as the situation continues to evolve.

At present, the Government of Nepal has asked that relief funds be directed through the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund under a “One Door Policy.” There are important and nuanced considerations around this approach, and I am seeking guidance from people on the ground before determining where the funds raised through Moving Mountains can be most responsibly and effectively directed.

In the meantime, all donations will be pooled and transparently tracked. No funds will be distributed until we have greater clarity from Nepali partners about where they can have the greatest impact.

Potential recipients may include the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund; the Nepal Red Cross Society, which is currently playing a significant role in emergency response; or trusted Nepali-led, grassroots and climate-focused organizations supporting both immediate relief and longer-term recovery and resilience.

As the situation evolves, I will continue to share updates about what we are hearing, how the decision is being made, and ultimately where every dollar raised is sent.

Our guiding principle is entirely to listen to people in Nepal, follow their lead, and direct these resources where they can do the most good.
